Controversy over Pakistan’s victory against Team India in T20 World Cup, clashes with Kashmiri students

The crushing defeat against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup broke the hearts of Indian fans. With this, India’s winning streak against Pakistan in the World Cup also came to an end. Meanwhile, there have been reports of a scuffle with some Kashmiri students at an engineering institute located in Punjab’s Sangrur district after the match.

A scuffle reportedly broke out between Kashmir students and some students from UP-Bihar. Police said on Monday that slogans were raised after the match on Sunday night, following which some students clashed. Some students from Kashmir and other students from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were watching the match in their respective rooms at Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology in Sangrur. After India’s defeat in the match, there was an altercation between the students.

Meanwhile, a video went viral on social media in which a Kashmiri student is seen alleging that some students from Uttar Pradesh barged into his room. In the video the student is saying, ‘We were watching a match here and some students from Uttar Pradesh forcibly entered our room. We have come here to study.

The student also showed in the video the damage done to his room. Police said that they are investigating the matter.
