Stock Market Closing On 24 April 2024: The Indian stock market has closed with a rise for the fourth consecutive session. But big growth has again been seen in midcap stocks. Due to the rise in midcap stocks, the Nifty midcap index was again successful in crossing the 50,000 mark. In today's trade, the market again got support from consumer durables and banking stocks. At the end of today's trading, BSE Sensex closed at 73,852 points with a jump of 114 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 22,413 points with a jump of 45 points.
Market cap crosses Rs 400 lakh crore
Due to the boom in the stock market, the market cap of stocks listed on BSE has again succeeded in crossing Rs 400 lakh crore. According to BSE data, the market cap of listed companies has reached Rs 401.47 lakh crore, which was Rs 399.68 lakh crore in the last session. That means, there has been a jump of Rs 1.79 lakh crore in market cap in today's trade.
Sector condition
In today's business, apart from consumer durables, shares of banking, pharma, FMCG, metals, energy, healthcare sectors closed with a rise. While IT, Auto, Oil & Gas and Media stocks closed with a decline. While Nifty's midcap index was seen doing well, the small cap index also saw a rise due to buying in small cap stocks.
