APSRTC is ready to provide better facilities to the people in accordance with the motto of traveling in RTC bus – safe and auspicious. Andhra Pradesh has already announced special buses for Sankranti which is the most glorious event in the state. Now it has gone one step further and announced concessions. It is impressing the passengers by giving such discounts so that the passengers do not turn towards the private operators. RTC, which is already giving 25 percent discount on tickets to senior citizens, has now announced that if four passengers (including children) take a ticket at the same time, they will give a five percent discount on the fare. This policy is going to be beneficial for those traveling with families. Even if you book a ticket through e-wallet, you can reduce the fare by five percent. Advance reservation of Ranuponu ticket will reduce the return fare by 10 percent.
However, officials revealed that this policy is being applied to special buses that run during festival seasons like Sankranti and Dussehra. All those settled in towns and cities come to Sankranthi. This system will benefit both the RTC and the passengers. On the other hand, APSRTC MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao revealed that 6,400 special buses will be run for those going to their hometowns on Sankranti. These services will be available from January 6 to 18. It has been clarified that normal fares will be available in special buses as well.
