Immediately after the incident, the women were taken to Guntur Government Hospital. Some are already in serious condition. The doctors tried hard to save them but to no avail. The woman named Lakshmamma was taken to a private hospital as her condition was serious. The stampede was caused by the women jostling for gifts at once. Gifts were brought in 15 trucks. 15 counters have been placed. There was a stampede near the first counter. The barricade at the front was broken and the women at the back were brought forward at once. Those in front fell down. As the women fell on them, they were unable to breathe and lost consciousness.
