Chandigarh: The Union Government has announced the repeal of the Agriculture Act but the peasant movement is gaining momentum. Now the spark of this movement has reached abroad. A protest will be held in front of the Indian High Commission in London today. In addition to Vancouver, Canada, there will be sleep-outs in Surrey. The protest will take place on November 30 in Paris, France. There will also be a car rally in California on December 4 and a march in New York City. A tribute ceremony will be held at San Jose Gurdwara and candles will be lit. Events are planned in Vienna (Austria) on December 5 and 8 in the Netherlands. Events will be held in Australia as well as in other cities.

Farmer leaders say that not only India but farmers around the world are going through a crisis. Therefore, the problem will be solved only by uniting the farmers of the world. On the other hand, the Government of India is concerned about the international reach of the peasant movement. The government is saying that agriculture laws have been withdrawn. A committee on MSP is also being worked out. Therefore, there is no point in agitating the farmers now. A program of demonstration has been drawn up. Thousands of farmers are celebrating the first anniversary of the agitation today in celebration of its victory following the Union Government’s decision to withdraw the Agriculture Act.
