According to the information, suddenly the price of cotton has come down in Telangana. Due to fall in prices, cotton has become Rs 6,800 per quintal. At the same time, a farmer involved in the protest said that it is only slightly more than the minimum support price. About 50 million acres of land is used for growing cotton in the state. Farmers were encouraged to take up cotton cultivation in 2022, as prices had reached a record high in the past. Even as heavy rains and floods destroyed crops in many parts of the state, farmers went ahead and replanted the fiber crop.

Have decided to protest across India from 4th January

According to Agri News, the cost of making things increased due to the second planting. However, it is expected that the higher prices will be offset by higher prices. All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has decided to protest across India from 4 January. S Malla Reddy, a senior AIKS leader, said the prices were deliberately kept low, even though there is a huge demand for cotton.

Reported to get 2 to 4 quintals per acre

S. Malla Reddy said that due to the rains, leaves came in the crop, due to which the growth of doda was damaged. This has resulted in a huge drop in production. We think production will fall by 50%. This year it should be between 20 to 25 million bales as compared to 45 million bales last year.

Price ranges between ₹ 6,800 and ₹ 7,500 per quintal

There is news that State Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy also joined the protest against the farmers on Saturday. He has asked the state and central governments to guarantee a price of Rs 15,000 per quintal. The price of cotton in different markets of the state is between ₹ 6,800 and ₹ 7,500 per quintal.
