Goods train caught fire in Kaushambi, fire engines extinguished after hours of effort

Ashok Vishwakarma, Kaushambi: A fire broke out in a coal-laden goods train passing through the Howrah-Delhi rail route in Kaushambi, UP. Seeing the rising smoke, Manohar Ganj station master informed Bharwari station master, who was stopped in Bharwari loop line. Fire engines reached and started the work of extinguishing the fire. The fire was extinguished after hours of struggle. After this the train was dispatched.

There was a stir in the railway department after the information about a fire in a coal-laden goods train going from railway headquarters Prayagraj to Kanpur at around 9 am on Monday morning. Manohar Ganj station master saw the smoke rising from the train before Bharwari station. Whose information was given to Bharwari station master. As soon as the information was received, the train was stopped on the Bharwari loop line, but by then the fire was raging. Smoke was rising from the coaches of the goods train number 3 to 5. Before the fire took a formidable form, two vehicles reached from Manjhanpur fire station controlled the smoldering coal fire.

ACPRO Amit Malviya said that friction between coal often causes fire. A similar incident had happened two days back as well. However, due to timely information, the fire could be brought under control soon. The train was dispatched to the destination after three hours.
