Amritsar: Father-son cheated 70 lakhs on the pretext of doubling the money, cheated in the name of chit fund company

A case of cheating of Rs 70.46 lakh by a father-son resident of the posh colony Green Avenue in Amritsar on the pretext of doubling the money in the name of chit fund company has come to light. On receiving the complaint, the Civil Line Police has registered a case of cheating against the accused father and son after investigating the matter. Harinderpal Singh, a resident of Hukam Singh Road, told in the complaint given to the police that he is known to Gurcharan Singh and his son Manvinder Singh, a resident of Kothi number 400 of Green Avenue. The accused father-son implied him in his words that he runs a chit fund company and will double his money in six months.

Police in search of accused

After coming to the words of father and son, he gave them Rs 70.46 lakh. The complainant said that the accused father and son neither doubled their money nor returned their money. When he went to the house of the accused on Green Avenue to collect his money, it was found that they had left from there. The accused had told him that they had an office in Chandigarh, so on getting the address there too, the locks were found hanging. Inspector Shivdarshan Singh, station in-charge of Civil Lines said that this matter could be even bigger. Because so far they have received only one complaint in this regard. The matter is being investigated and the police are trapping the mobile phones of the accused to arrest them.
