Bihar Police’s Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday chased two arms smugglers from Munger and busted an illegal gun factory in Hazaribagh with the help of local police.

Weapons recovered in large numbers
Seven persons were arrested with 52 unfinished semi-automatic country-made pistols and 32 butts. These weapons were to be prepared and brought to Munger and sold to criminals. Police have also recovered two sticks, two milling, two drill machines, a motor and two bikes, apart from the raw material for making pistols, from the gun factory near Seven Mile Chowk of village Vishnupur in the same police station area of ​​Hazaribagh district.

Munger’s arms smugglers have a base in Jharkhand
However, two smugglers in a car escaped before the STF team could catch it. The rest of the arrested smugglers have been identified as Mohd Sonu, Mohd Imran Hasan, Mohd Naseem, Mohd Imran, Mohd Mushtaq Mustafa, natives of Qasim Bazar in Munger and Mohd Shamim Akhtar and Mohd Akhtar of Nawadih in Bokaro, Jharkhand.

The STF had earlier busted illegal arms factories in Dumka, Deoghar and Giridih in Jharkhand, the official said. From there also partially finished pistols were being manufactured for sale in Bihar.
