Some people beat up five-six Kashmiri youths selling hot clothes by hawking them in Doranda police station area of Ranchi. In protest against this incident, Kashmiri youth and local people blocked the road in Doranda. Due to this there was chaos for about 20 minutes.
Kashmiri youth got the support of local people
On Saturday, around 11 o’clock in the day, some people misbehaved with Kashmiri youths. A large number of people reached Doranda police station in protest against the incident and demanded the arrest of those who assaulted Kashmiri youths. The police reached the spot and arrested three people accused of assault. This is the second time in the last 20 days that Kashmiri youths selling hot clothes have been assaulted in Ranchi.
Beaten up for not raising religious slogans
Mohammad Burhan, Mohd. Tanveer, Mr. Sartaj, Mr. Riyaz and Ghulam Nabi allege that they were going to sell clothes, when twenty miscreants attacked them near Kadrupul and looted many of their belongings. The attackers also pressured them to raise religious slogans. After this incident, Kashmiri youth and local people blocked the road for about 20 minutes. They removed the road block after the police reached the spot and assured action. After this, a large number of people reached Doranda police station and protested against the incident.
Police detained three youths
Police has said that the matter is being investigated. The statement of Kashmiri youths who have alleged assault is being recorded. Those caught can be sent to jail if the charges are found to be true. Strict action will be taken against those who try to beat and disturb harmony. Here, the three youths caught on the charge of assault have declared themselves innocent.
Second incident with Kashmiri youth in 20 days
Let us inform that even before this, on November 11, some people had assaulted four Kashmiri youths in Hathikhana Patthar Road of Doranda police station area and forcibly asked them to repeat some slogans. One of the accused was arrested on the complaint of the victim youths Bilal Ahmed, Shabbir Ahmed, Waseem Ahmed.
