CBI raids in several states including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal in child pornography case

Chandigarh: The CBI has conducted raids in 14 states, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, for making and sharing child pornographic videos. The team conducted raids in Sangrur, Malerkotla, Hoshiarpur in Punjab and Yamunanagar in Haryana, Panipat, Sirsa, Hisar and Solan in Himachal Pradesh. During the search, the CBI recovered a large quantity of electronic devices, mobiles, laptops, etc.

The issue of child pornography has come to the fore at the national level in Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa areas. All the three districts have suddenly come under the radar of CBI. A CBI team arrived in Hisar district to conduct a raid in three vehicles.

After investigation, the team seized computers and laptops. A young man was issued a notice and summoned for questioning. The CBI had found evidence of child pornography on the internet in the area. Child pornography was uploaded here from the IP link. The CBI is gathering information about him. The operators of the IP address have been summoned by the CBI. At the same time, the CBI is conducting investigations at various places in Sirsa and Fatehabad districts.

Including Preliminary investigations have revealed that more than 50 groups and more than 5,000 criminals were involved in sharing child sexual abuse material. Most of these groups include foreign nationals. These groups operate primarily in more than 100 countries across the continent.

The business of child pornography is growing & nbsp;
The business is booming. Recently, the Supreme Court had also expressed concern over this. The number of people using pornography continues to grow. Overseas business leaders are connecting people through WhatsApp and other social media to show child pornographic videos. People are also charged for watching a few seconds of video.

Trapped in the lure of money
Locals are also being linked to the business by posting photos. In return, they are being paid. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, 2012 (Pokso Act) also provides punishment for child pornography. Pursuant to Section 14 of the POCSO Act, it is an offense to use any form, including depiction of the genitals of a child, participation of a child in real or fake sexual activity and indecent or improper depiction of a child.
