Syllabus Of CAT Exam 2021: The CAT 2021 exam is going to be held on 26th November, now only one month is left in it. That’s why the students are busy preparing for the CAT exam vigorously. This exam is considered to be quite difficult, so students must know the syllabus and pattern of CAT exam. what is CAT exam
CAT exam is an online national level exam conducted by IIMs (India Institute of Management), through which candidates can get admission in prestigious PGDM/MBA programmes. Many other B-schools in the country like FMS, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, SPJIMR, MDI Gurugram etc. also offer CAT for admission to their MBA/PGDM programs. Scores are considered mandatory. Every year more than 2 lakh candidates appear for CAT.

CAT Paper Pattern
In this year’s CAT exam, candidates will get 120 minutes, i.e. this exam will be made up of 3 sections to be done in 40 minutes per section. Its curriculum includes Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude. Every year 75% questions in the exam are MCQ questions and each correct answer carries 3 marks. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in this type of questions. Rest 25% paper is non-MCQ questions. There are 3 marks for each correct answer, but there is no negative marking with such questions.

CAT Exam Syllabus
As of now no official syllabus for CAT 2021 has been released though there is no significant change in it. Looking at the past trends, its syllabus is as follows-

CAT VARC Syllabus
Reading comprehension, parajumbles, gossip, paragraph summaries etc.

CAT LRDI Syllabus
Games and tournaments, set theory, lays cases, dices and cubes, arrangement series, pie charts, bar graphs etc.

CAT Quant Syllabus
Arithmetic, Algebra, Number System, Geometry, Modern Mathematics etc.

CAT preparation strategy
To get admission in the top B-schools of the country, a general category student needs at least 99% marks. So the candidates need to be determined and consistent in their preparation.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
This section examines your comprehension skills more than the knowledge of the student. Reading daily newspaper and practicing various resources like Kalp Essay, Articles from Guardian etc and many RCs, Parajumbles, Para Summaries etc. will help you in cracking this section.

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation
This section is a tough one for some candidates. The sets vary in difficulty from an easy to difficult level, so choosing the right set becomes a game-changer for you. It is important to practice a wide range of topics like Arrangements, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Games and Tournaments, Case Lets, etc. to choose easy sets as well as develop an in-depth understanding of each topic.

Quantitative Aptitude
This section of the paper covers different types of questions from Arithmetic, Algebra, Numbers, Geometry and Modern Mathematics. Clearing the fundamentals and moving on to advanced questions is essential to crack this section. Improving the calculations and trying to solve the questions mentally can save maximum time and help you solve them with maximum accuracy.
