Krishna district police gave a big shock to drug addicts on New Year’s Eve. The police destroyed the seized bottles of illegal liquor across the district. Not one.. Not two.. Rs. Liquor bottles worth 50 lakhs were trampled with a road roller. So there was alcohol on the road. Police destroyed liquor bottles under SP Joshua. Due to the high prices of liquor in the state, people are illegally transporting liquor from neighboring states including Telangana. With that, the police are keeping a tight vigil at the borders and are catching those who are smuggling liquor. As part of this, recently a total of Rs. 50 lakh worth of liquor seized. Also, 119 vehicles used for smuggling liquor were seized. These vehicles were auctioned in two stages.. Rs. Police revealed that 41 lakhs was received. The seized liquor was spread on the road under the direction of SP Joshua and trampled with a road roller on Saturday.
