According to the woman, the accused Lala Patel was the son of Ranchod Patel who was lodged in Sabarmati Jail along with the woman’s husband. A police official said the woman’s husband had been arrested on charges of chain snatching.
Claiming to have committed a crime by calling to meet under the pretext of giving money
The woman claimed that Lala came to her on Wednesday evening and took her to his car saying that he was going to give her some money and allegedly forced her to have sex with him in the car.
He was also accused of molesting his 5-year-old daughter after raping his mother
The plaintiff stated that her two children were with her in the car when the incident occurred. She also accused the man of sexually harassing her five-year-old daughter.
Police said they were searching for the fugitive as he was absconding
The case is being investigated by Police Inspector R. D Makwana is doing. Throughout the case, he said, the accused is yet to be arrested. He added that the woman was living with her husband’s parents and her children.
Notably, there has been a significant increase in the incidence of misdemeanor complaints in the state over the last several years. In Gandhinagar, Surat and Bharuch, there has been an uproar over the recent murder of a girl child.
