Realme 9i 5G Review: How is this cheap 5G phone of Realme? Read the full details closely

Realme 9i 5G Review: 5G is going to be launched in the country, due to which the demand for 5G smartphones will increase. In view of this, mobile companies are bringing cheap 5G phones in the market. Realme has also launched its midrange 5G phone Realme 9i 5G. This phone has MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 processor and 50-megapixel triple camera setup. How this phone, which comes in Rs 14,999, performs, know in this review.

Design: Looking at the Realme 9i 5G, it seems that the company has worked on the design of this phone. This phone is slightly different from other handsets in this range. The back panel of the phone is reflective and shiny. It has been given glossy finishing like CD and DVD. Just like the CD and DVD used to flash and change color when the light was on, the same happens on the back panel of this phone. Realme calls this the laser light design, which is a bit different and looks good. The glossy back panel made of plastic gives the phone a premium look, but dust and fingerprints are easily printed on it.

Realme 9i 5G weighs 187 grams and its thickness is 8.1 millimeters. There will be no problem in using the phone with one hand. The grip of Realme 9i 5G is also good, but due to the glossy finish, the back panel of the phone is slippery. The phone can slip out of hand while using, so you should put the cover given in the box on the phone.

Display: Realme 9i 5G has a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display. Coming with 2400×1080 pixel resolution, this display is big, but it has a water-drop notch cutout in Realme. Because of this the phone seems a bit outdated. The brightness of the display is 400 nits and colors are also good on it. However, due to the IPS LCD panel, you will miss the punchy and vibrant colors of the AMOLED screen here. Even if you use the phone in bright light or in the sun, the content on the display is still visible.

The refresh rate of the display is 90Hz, which is standard in this range. Due to this, the scrolling on the display becomes smooth and the animation playback is also good. The touch response of the display is also excellent. I have no complaints with this display, but it would have been better if the Amoled panel had been given here in Realme.

Camera: Triple camera setup has been given in Realme 9i 5G. The primary camera of the phone is 50 megapixels. The second camera is a 2-megapixel depth sensor and the third camera is a 2-megapixel macro lens. The company has not given a traditional camera module in the phone. Instead, three different cutouts have been given on the back panel, in which there are three camera lenses. There are two large lenses and one a little smaller. This design looks good. The main camera that comes with phase detection autofocus takes good photos in daylight. Tries to maintain the color and also captures the details fine. If the light is not right while taking the photo, then sometimes the colors come a little saturated but the details are good.

The camera of Realme 9i 5G performs well even at night and in low-light conditions. Good edge detection is also available in portrait photos taken from the phone. If you are switching from a budget handset to this smartphone, then you will love the camera of the phone. The phone has an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie. The front camera enhances the photo while taking a selfie. There are many beautification modes in this, which you can enable while taking photos. Apart from this, you will be able to make 1080P and 720P videos only from the phone.

Processor: Realme has given MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 chipset in this phone. It is a midrange processor, which is based on 6 nanometer fabrication process. Earlier this processor has come in phones like Poco M4 Pro 5G and Realme 8S 5G. The Dimensity 810 is a powerful chipset in this range. On Realme 9i 5G, you will be able to do all your work smoothly. A good multitasking experience is available on it. Even if 5-6 apps are open in the background, the phone does not slow down. The phone also performs well in gaming. Maintains its performance for a long time. If you will be gaming on the phone for a long time, then the phone definitely heats up and frame rates often drop while playing heavy graphics games. This phone runs on Realme UI 3.0, which is based on Android 12. The user interface is smooth, but the phone is full of bloatware and you will also see some aids in it. In Realme 9i 5G, the company has given two RAM (4GB and 6GB) variants, while the storage is only 128GB.

Battery: In this phone, Realme has given 5000mAh battery which comes with 18W fast charging support. Fast charger is given in the box. If you are a moderate user and use the phone continuously, even then you will get a backup of one to one and a half days on the phone. I have no complaints with the battery backup, but the phone takes a long time to charge. If you charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent, then it will take you 2 hours, which is quite a lot. Realme should have given 33W fast charging support in this phone.

Should you buy the Realme 9i 5G?

Realme 9i 5G is an affordable 5G smartphone. The design of the phone is great, the chipset is fast and the battery backup is also good. I liked its camera performance but the charging speed is slow. Its 4GB / 64GB variant costs Rs 14,999, while for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage you will have to spend Rs 16,999.
