‘Farming Model’ developed by Gujarati youth has become a role model for farmers, more income at lower cost

Surat In today’s modern times technology is giving the latest results in every field. Our country is an agricultural country and technology is proving to be very useful in this field as well. At present, Rameshbhai Patel, a farmer from Godawadi village in Mandvi taluka, and his friends, including his son Urvinbhai Patel, have inspired other farmers by adopting modern technology of multilayer farming in two acres of land.

Giving information about the unique method of multilayer farming, Rameshbhai Patel said, “Together with my son, I have started farming with this method so that I can earn more income by experimenting with something new in farming.” “Thanks to the efforts of my son Urvin and his friend Niravbhai Parekh, this model farm has been set up,” he said. In which multilayer farm in 0.5 acres and incroping in 1.5 acres have been experimented. Motivational efforts are being made to increase the income of farmers by emphasizing on better and scientific farming methods with new experiments on farm farming.

Giving more information, Rameshbhai Patel said that in the first year, with the cultivation of turmeric, a mandapa of gulka and milk has been prepared. Which has had astonishing success, as the usually three to four foot turmeric plants have reached a height of seven feet with proper grooming on this model farm. So there is a possibility of getting a good product in the coming time.

Regarding the multilayer farming model, Niravbhai Parekh said that no chemicals or pesticides have been used in this farm. Natural items like cow dung, cow urine and vermi compost manure have been used as manure here. He believes that at a time when young people are leaving the farming business, with the aim of young people adopting farming and taking some new initiatives, we, together with friends, have built a farm that can be farmed on a multilayer farming model and earn more income.

According to him, more than one crop can be cultivated in this technique. So that there is no fear of pests or weeds in the crop. This technique is cultivated in five layers. In which a structure made of bamboo has been used. In the first layer underground crops like turmeric and ginger, in the second layer coriander, fenugreek, spinach as well as in the third and fourth layer with bamboo support milky, gulka, karela vine vegetables and in the fifth layer papaya are grown. Thus the farm has successfully experimented with growing seven to eight types of crops in one place.
