Mahatma Gandhi Lifestyle : Mahatma Gandhi's life was one of struggle. Even though he was born in a simple family… his whole life went on the path of struggles, movements and reforms. Little is said about his peaceful struggle to bring freedom to his homeland. Britain lost before his peaceful movements. India was given independence. Mahatma Gandhi was very careful about food. All his food is vegetarian. Even if friends and loved ones advised him to forget his diet, he politely rejected it. Only vegetarians are inclined. Even when he went to study in London from India, he used to follow certain rules regarding his food there too. Even if his friends advised him to eat meat, he politely refused them.. The first basket contained vegetarian food, the second basket contained meat food, and the third basket contained mixed food. The first basket contained fruits and vegetables including  vegetarian  pulses,  grains. The second basket contains mostly meat, poultry and fish. Gandhiji's favorite was the mixed-diet basket or third basket. It consisted of different types of food items. Pulses, vegetables and dairy products were the staples. Bapuji used to eat only one meal a day.  They don't go for foods like bread, pasta, sugar at all.  Rice, dal, chapati, curd, peda are his favorite dishes.  Gandhi used to say that the human body has the ability to reconstruct itself. They strongly believed that the body can be healthy only if we eat the right food.  Gandhi strongly believed that body and mind are inseparable.  Gandhi diet plan is also known to provide mental energy. It is very helpful in burning fat and gaining strong muscles. Many people followed his diet at that time. You can also follow this diet to stay free from health problems.
