The issue of relaxation of time limit in applications for scholarship and fee reimbursement has started gaining momentum in colleges across the state. Self Finance College Federation has raised questions on giving time till March to SC-ST students to apply, while for general, OBC and minority students it will be closed only on January 18. The association has appealed to the higher authorities to give only time till March to general, OBC and minority students to apply. Under the said scheme, lakhs of students from across the state apply for fee reimbursement and scholarship. Delays in the admission process and results at universities also left students with less time to apply. According to Self Finance College Federation President Nitin Yadav, under the scholarship scheme, SC-ST students can apply for scholarship and fee reimbursement by March 31, while the deadline for general-OBC and minority category students has ended.
According to the association, thousands of students have not been able to apply in the colleges affiliated to Chau Charan Singh University. This number will be in lakhs across the state. The association has demanded from the government to give time till March 31 to the students of other categories like SC-ST to apply.
Universities should talk to colleges before the admission process.
Chaudhary Charan Singh has appealed to self-finance colleges to discuss various points before the proposed admission process in the university. According to the association, the share of self-finance colleges in the admission process is more than 90 percent, but they have no role in policy making.
