Border Dispute: Is China spying through mobile phones? The intelligence agencies warned the soldiers

India-China Border Dispute: Amid the ongoing standoff with China on the border, defense intelligence agencies have issued an advisory on Chinese mobile phones. Intelligence agencies have asked to ensure that soldiers stationed at the border and their families do not use Chinese mobile phones. The advisory issued by the defense intelligence agencies said that through various forms and channels their personnel should be asked to exercise caution with such (Chinese) mobile phone devices.

News agency ANI’s Accordingly, intelligence agencies have advised soldiers and their families to avoid buying or using phones from countries hostile to India. Sources said that this advisory has been issued as cases have come to light in which agencies have allegedly found malware and spyware in mobile phones of Chinese origin.

First Chinese application was also removed

Country Chinese mobile phones available in the commercial market include Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, One Plus, Honor, Realme, ZTE, Gionee, Asus and Infinix. Even in the past, spy agencies have been very active against Chinese mobile phone applications. Several such applications were removed from the phones of military personnel.

India-China tensions continue

Defense forces also installed Chinese on their devices. Stopped using mobile phones and Chinese applications. Military tensions between India and China have increased since March 2020. Both the countries have deployed heavily against each other on the LAC from eastern Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.

Recently, the armies of the two countries came face to face in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. After which the officials held a flag meeting to control the situation.
