Himachal by-elections: Highest 27 percent voting in Jubbal-Kotkhai seat till 12 noon

Shimla, Oct 30 (PTI) Highest 27 per cent polling was recorded in Jubbal-Kotkhai seat and lowest 19 per cent in Mandi seat till 12 noon in the by-elections for four seats in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. Officials gave this information.

He said that the voting for Mandi Lok Sabha seat and Arki, Fatehpur and Jubbal-Kotkhai assembly seats began at 8 am on Saturday.

The Mandi seat recorded 19.78 per cent voting between 8 am and 12 noon. Fatehpur, Arki and Jubbal-Kotkhai seats recorded 22.27, 24.02 and 27.85 per cent polling, respectively.

An election official said that initially the pace of polling was slow but now it is gaining momentum.

An official said that 2,484 polling stations and 312 auxiliary polling stations have been set up for the bypolls. There are 12,99,756 voters in Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, 87,222 in Fatehpur, 92,609 in Solan (Arki) and 70,965 in Jubbal-Kotkhai assembly constituency.

By-elections in these four seats are being held due to the death of sitting MPs and MLAs. The counting of votes for all these seats will be done on November 2.

Six candidates are in the fray for Mandi Lok Sabha seat and 12 candidates for three assembly seats.
