Meanwhile, an angry councilor of the municipality misbehaved with the government officials and used indecent language. In this incident, the corporator publicly misbehaved with the officials. After this, while taking action against the entire councilor, he was disqualified and removed from the municipality. After this the whole matter had reached the Gujarat High Court. High Court Justice Nirjar Desai, while hearing the matter, said in his remarks that there is nothing wrong in disqualifying such people’s representatives. He also said that people’s lives are more important than business. At that time the elected representative should have cooperated in the work of the officers.

Councilor did not get relief
Bhavesh Patel, who was the councilor of Unjha Municipality, did not get relief in the Gujarat High Court. The court upheld the decision to remove him. Patel had opposed the joint action of the municipality, district administration and police on April 25, 2021. He publicly used foul language for the officers. Not only this, he had posted a video of it on his Facebook page. This video clip went viral. The officials had complained about the attitude of the councilor to the chief officer of the municipality. After this, Patel was removed from the post by the commissioner of the municipality. This action against Patel was taken under section 37(1) of the Gujarat Municipal Act. Patel himself had moved the High Court against his removal.
