Poland used water cannons, accuses Belarus of attack

Warsaw, Nov 16 (AP) Poland’s border forces said they used water cannons in retaliation after migrants attacked them with stones at the Belarusian border on Tuesday. Police said gas grenades and other weapons were given to the migrants by Belarusian forces, who directed the entire violent operation with drones.

The situation suggests a tense migration and escalation of political crisis along the eastern border of the European Union and NATO with the lives of thousands of migrants being used by Belarus at stake.

The Poland Border Guard posted a video on Twitter that shows water cannons being fired at a group of migrants at a makeshift camp in extreme cold weather.
