Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome. During this, both the leaders are believed to have discussed bilateral and issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister had reached Rome on Friday at the invitation of the Italian Prime Minister. The two leaders were received by Draghi at the Palazzo Chigi (the official residence of the Italian Prime Minister) as they arrived for their first face-to-face meeting.

A guard of salute was presented to Prime Minister Modi on the occasion. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted that India-Italy partnership is in sync. Prime Minister Modi was received by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi when he came to the Palazzo Chigi for the first one-on-one meeting. Both the leaders inspected the guard of honor ahead of the delegation level talks.

The people of the Indian community were carrying the tricolor in their hands and were chanting Modi’s name with enthusiasm. The Prime Minister encouraged the people present by shaking hands. Members of a group present there also chanted mantras and during this the Prime Minister was listening to him with folded hands. He also presented some books to Modi.
