The Robert Koch Institute said on Friday that the infection rate in Germany for the last seven days has been 263.7 per 100,000 people. Earlier this rate was 249.1 per one lakh.

For the first time, 50,000 daily new cases of infection were reported here on Thursday. After this 48,640 new cases were reported here on Friday.

In Germany, the death toll reached 97,389 with 191 more deaths due to infection.

The Centers for Disease Control said in its weekly report released on Thursday, “It is essentially advised to cancel large events, if possible, and avoid other unnecessary contacts.”
