The Neemkar couple fell in love with Nitya at first sight. Umang Neemkar, who works in an insurance company, said, “We decided to adopt Nitya when we first saw her. We are thankful that she has finally come into our lives.” It may be mentioned that Umangbhai’s wife Sapna is a teacher in the school.

“We first applied for child adoption in 2011. We applied through the child application portal CARA in 2014. We have a small family and we have always been missing a daughter. We have always longed for a daughter,” Umangbhai added.

“There are currently 11 children in the VR Popavala orphanage,” Hemant Gamit, manager of a specialized child adoption agency, told the Times of India. There are seven boys and four girls. All of these range in age from 1 month to 5 years.
