< p style ="text-align: justify;">Thane is not the only district facing water shortage

Thane is not the only district of Maharashtra which is facing water shortage, the crisis of water shortage in Maharashtra is going on for a long time. Due to the lack of water, the farmers here have to face a lot of problems. According to the Union Ministry of Agriculture, the groundwater level in Maharashtra has dropped dangerously in the last few years. The depletion of ground water has had a direct impact on the farmers here, so the state government is encouraging the farmers to grow crops that require less water by giving subsidies and incentives, but is this a permanent solution to this problem?< /p>

This is the main reason for water scarcity in the state

Maharashtra once used to receive continuous rains for more than four months, bringing cheer to the farmers, but in recent years, not only has the amount of rainfall decreased   It is not properly stored and the crops are also not supplied with sufficient amount of water.  The significant factor of water scarcity in the state is over-exploitation of ground water. Due to excessive exploitation of ground water, there has been a shortage of water in dams and reservoirs. Awareness and collective efforts are needed to prevent the water problem in the state.
