Rajasthan News: Heavy damage to crops due to rain and hail in Udaipur, farmers should give information about damaged crops here

Udaipur: Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there is a period of hailstorm and heavy rain in Udaipur for the last two days. Due to the heavy rains, the fields in the rural areas of Udaipur district have been flooded. The crop has been destroyed due to hailstorm at some places. Now is the time for rabi crop. Wheat, gram, mustard are the main crops in this. Farmers also cultivate vegetables at this time. The rain has caused maximum damage to vegetables. Wheat, gram, mustard have also been damaged in many areas. This is a weather attack on the farmers, but it is also a protection. The state government has made a system to give direct information to the farmers about their damaged crops. Through this Farmers can give information about their damaged crop directly to the concerned officer.  

What is the message given by the state government

A message has been issued for the farmers from the State Government and the Agriculture Department. In this, it has been told that due to hailstorm, heavy rain and strong winds in Udaipur district, crops have been badly damaged in some areas. In Udaipur’s Badgaon, Gogunda, Girwa, Vallabhnagar, Kurabad, Mavli areas, crops have been damaged due to hailstorm, heavy rain and strong winds. A lot of damage has been done. Among the crops that have been damaged, wheat, barley, gram, mustard and vegetables are the main crops. 

Where can farmers give information about damaged crops

Udaipur’s Joint Director Agriculture Madho Singh Champawat and Assistant Director Agriculture Dr. Devendra Pratap Singh visited the affected areas on Sunday. These officers discussed with the farmers of the affected areas. Champawat told that the agriculture sub-district wise information about the losses has been sent to the Agriculture Commissionerate, as well as the farmers who have suffered losses due to hailstorm and strong winds. He said that if the farmer has taken insurance under the crop insurance scheme, then he can inform about the loss within 72 hours on the toll free number 18004196116 and on the email ID [email protected]. After this, an attempt will be made to get compensation by getting the loss assessed by the insurance company. 

Champawat told that the agriculture supervisors working in the area have been directed to contact the farmers of the affected areas and get them filled in the information form. Farmer brothers of the affected areas can contact the nearest agriculture supervisor and give information about the loss by filling in the form.
