Pratapgarh Crime News: A young man and his wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in a village under Sangipur police station area, 50 km from Pratapgarh district headquarters. . The relatives of the woman have given a complaint to the police and accused her of murder. A police officer gave this information on Saturday.

Inspector-in-charge (SHO) of Sangipur police station Jitendra Singh said that the bodies of Sonu (32) and his wife Mithlesh (30), residents of Semri Deum Purab village under the police station area, were recovered.

Singh told family members that on Friday night Sonu had gone to his nephew Ravi’s place to attend a wedding ceremony and on returning home went to sleep in his room.

He said that after some time when his wife Mithilesh (30) went to the room, she found him hanging from the ceiling with the help of a saree. Mithilesh somehow got the husband down but by then he had already died.

Singh quoted the family members as saying that hearing her crying, family members and neighbors also reached there and as soon as they started crying sitting near the dead body, Mithilesh suddenly went to the room and hanged herself by making a noose of a saree. Sonu’s relatives gave this information to the police regarding the incident.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation by sending the dead bodies of the couple for postmortem. On getting information about the incident, the people of Mithilesh’s maternal home also reached.

Beaten over land division
Sukhram Saroj, a resident of Kanukotwa Kalikan of Sangrampur police station in Amethi district, has given a complaint to the police alleging that his daughter Mithilesh and son-in-law Sonu are being threatened with land division. Used to be beaten up.

Saroj alleged that Sonu’s father Laxman, brother Ram Manohar and nephew Ravi and Deshraj, a resident of Ranipur Kalikan, murdered both of them with a common consent.

However, the in-charge inspector said that prima facie this incident seems to be a suicide. He said that after the post mortem report, further action will be taken when the situation becomes clear.
