Nalanda Violence: Electricity restored amid ruckus in Nalanda, surveillance by drone, DM said – strict action will be taken against miscreants

Nalanda: During the Ram Navami (Ram Navami 2023) procession in Nalanda, Bihar, there was a violent clash between people of two communities. During this, people from both sides created a lot of ruckus. On the other hand, regarding this matter, Nalanda DM Shashank Shubhankar said that electricity has been restored. Monitoring is being done through CCTV footage and drones. Regarding this matter, Nalanda SP Ashok Mishra said that the situation is under control. The miscreants are being identified. Some people are being questioned. Strict action will be taken against the guilty. 

People stay at their homes for now and don’t pay attention to rumours- DM

DM Shashank Shubhankar told that the situation is peaceful now, the vehicles which were on fire have been extinguished. Some people have indulged in bullying and stone pelting has also taken place. We are conducting a full investigation into the incident. Everyone is watching the video so that we will know what the incident happened, strict action will be taken against all the people who have created nuisance by marking them. I request the people that Section 144 is applicable in the city so people stay in their homes and don’t pay attention to rumours. Magistrate and force have been deputed across the city. There is no report of any mosque being set on fire.

Let us tell you that during the Ramnavami procession on Friday evening near Gagandiwan locality of Laheri police station area of ​​Nalanda, the nuisance started. This started a dispute between the two communities. Shortly after, firing also started, due to which thousands of people involved in the Ram Navami procession started running here and there. Due to this, there was an atmosphere of chaos on the spot. Anti-social elements set fire to more than half a dozen vehicles there. Dozens of people were badly injured in this incident.
