Both the goals of the match were scored in the first half. Canadian forward Jonathan David gave hosts Lillee the lead in the 18th minute when he slammed a throw-in from Jose Fonte into the goal.
Romain Favre scored a free kick in the 31st minute to level Brest.
Lille’s performance this season has lacked consistency and the side are 12 points behind top-ranked Paris Saint-Germain after 11 matches.
PSG have just played one match less and the team will take on Marseille on Sunday.
Lille’s team is ninth in the points table while Brest’s team is in 18th place.
In another match on Saturday, Nantes beat Claremont 2-1.
