RRB Group D Salary Structure: RRB is going to conduct RRC Level-I (Group-D) exam in December 2021. There are 1,03,769 vacancies for Group-D posts in this recruitment. RRB Group D salary is an important aspect before appearing in this exam. You must know about the in-hand salary and job profile before taking appointment on a certain post. RRB Group-D is a central government job given under the Ministry of Railways. Apart from the salary, the candidates who clear the Group-D exam also get other benefits and allowances, such as traveling allowance, free train journeys, etc.

RRB Group D Salary In-Hand
RRB Group D Salary 18000/- Rs. 7th CPC will be in Level 01 of the Pay Matrix with an initial payment of Rs. Other allowances will also be admissible in this. The total salary after adding allowances and emoluments will be in the range of Rs.22,000 – Rs.25,000/-. If we talk about the pay scale, then it will be Rs 5,200-20,200 per month, grade pay Rs 1800, basic pay Rs 18,000, HRA 4320 to 3060, gross pay range (approx) 35,380 to 22,500 in addition to traveling allowance.

At the same time, house rent allowance varies according to the city in which you are living. Apart from this, the HRA allowance you get depends on the population of your classification cities. Along with this you also get daily allowance, mileage allowance for more than 8 kms, transport allowance, compensation in case of leave, allowance for night duty, fixed conveyance allowance and overtime allowance.

Job Profile of Railway Group D Posts
Group-D in Indian Railways is a basic railway job with minimum pay. By staying in this post, you will work as a caretaker or helper of the tracks. Your work will include maintenance of tracks, railway coaches, departments, stores etc. Your work will depend on the post you get. For example, if you are posted in a diesel locomotive, then your job will be to maintain the locomotive.

Promotion From Group D to Group C
Candidates selected as Group-D become eligible for promotion on completion of 3 years of regular service. For this, you need 85 marks in the written test and 15 marks in the service record. To test the working knowledge of a Railway employee in the written examination for appearing in Group-C, a paper is divided into two parts ‘A’ and ‘B’, part ‘A’ and part ‘English language’. B’ is to test the general standard level of intelligence and proficiency through Arithmetic and General Knowledge mainly related to Railways. These papers are in both Hindi/English languages.

Other necessary qualifications to go to Group-C
The prescribed percentage (as given below) in the nominated Group Group-C categories is to be filled by promotion of Group-D employees after selection in the written examination. For this it is necessary to fulfill these qualifications.

Technical: APWI(25%), Key man/ Key mate (33 1/3%, skilled posts in S&T(50%), Fireman A(25%)
Non-technical: Account Clerk (25%),, Personnel Branch Clerk(25%),Commercial Clerk(33 1/2%), TC(33 1/2%), Train Clerk(33 1/2%), Timekeepers(33 1/ 2%), Fuel checkers(33 1/2%), Store clerks(33 1/2%), Markers(100%).

  1. Typing speed 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi is essential for promotion from Group D staff to Group ‘C’ posts in Ministerial Cadre. However, promotion may be allowed on provisional based training.
  2. In case of failure in the first attempt, the employees may be given a second chance to qualify.
