Team India registered a hat-trick of victories in the ACC Men’s Emerging Tournament. Defeated arch-rival Pakistan by 8 wickets. With this victory, Team India entered the semis with confidence without any defeat.
Many of Pakistan’s players have already played international cricket. Some of the players in the Pakistan team played a total of 81 matches for the senior team in the ACC Emerging Tournament. But none of the players playing for India have made their debut for Team India yet. However, the young players defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets.
India-A and Pakistan-A teams faced each other in the match held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In this match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Pakistan was in trouble after losing wickets in the very beginning when Indian bowler Rajyavardhan Hangargekar got past. Hangargekar sent opener Ayub and one-down batter Yusuf to the pavilion without opening the run account. Finally, they were all out for 205 runs in 48 overs. Hangargekar ruled Pakistan’s downfall with 5 wickets. Manav took 3, Ryan Parag and Nishant Sindhu took one wicket each.
After that, the openers of Team India came into the ring with a small target and batted while playing and singing. Especially the opener Sai Sudarshan exploded with a century. He scored an unbeaten 104 off 110 balls to win the team. Nikin Jose scored a half century (53) coming in one down. With this, Team India finished the match in 36.4 overs. It is noteworthy that Sai Sudarshan completed his century with India’s winning shot.
India defeated United Arab Emirates by 8 wickets in the first match played as part of this tournament. In the second match, India won against Nepal by 9 wickets. Recently, they won against Pakistan by 8 wickets.. and registered a hat-trick victory. The first semi-final match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be held as part of this tournament. India and Bangladesh teams will meet in the second semis. The winning teams will reach the final. The semifinal matches will be played on July 21 and the final on July 23. All matches will be played in Colombo.
