In the gangrape case of CBSE topper student resident of Kosli area of Rewari, the special court of Judge Mona Singh in Narnaul found 3 out of 8 accused guilty and acquitted five after almost three years after the completion of the trial. The culprits will be sentenced on Friday. In September 2018, the case of gang-rape of a girl student made headlines across the country. After this, the government had transferred the then SP of Rewari Rajesh Duggal along with suspending the Rewari Mahila Police Station and Kanina police station in-charge.
The incident happened while going to coaching three years ago.
At that time SIT was formed to investigate the matter and the responsibility of investigation was entrusted to the then SP of Nuh, Nazneen Bhasin. On 12 September 2018, the student went from home to Kanina Coaching Center. From Kanina bus stand, Pankaj Fauji, Nishu Phogat and Manish abducted her in a car and gang-raped her in a dungeon in the fields after drinking intoxicants in water. After this, leaving him in a state of unconsciousness, he fled away.

After the matter came into the limelight, zero FIR was registered in Rewari and sent to Kanina police station. After the grit, the government suspended the Rewari Mahila Police Station in-charge and Kanina police station in-charge and transferred the SP Rajesh Duggal. Nazneen Bhasin was entrusted with the investigation by forming an SIT to investigate the matter.

After 4 days the main accused Nishu Phogat was arrested
Four days after the incident, the police arrested the main accused Nishu Phogat. After this, apart from Pankaj Fauji, Manish, Naveen, Abhishek, Manjeet and Sanjeev, 8 were arrested including Deendayal, the owner of the closet. Out of which the court held Nishu Phogat, Pankaj Fauji and Manish guilty and acquitted the rest due to lack of evidence.
