Breathless opposition, corruption in Mahavikas Aghadi, rulers are filling the empty space of opposition, MVA looked weak in Nagpur

Nagpur: The winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature will be known for the approval of the Lokayukta Amendment Bill and the historic supplementary demands. During the session, even though the opposition parties showed unity on the steps of Vidhan Bhawan in Nagpur, their unity was shattered in the proceedings of the House. Only the MLAs of the ruling party were seen shouting slogans against the opposition in the well of the assembly. However, the opposition has repeatedly alleged that Speaker Rahul Narvekar does not allow him to speak. Annoyed by this, he gave the letter to the secretary on the eve of the end of the session to move a no-confidence motion against the Speaker, which is considered breathless in political circles.

The Lokayukta Amendment Bill was approved in the cabinet meeting held on the eve of the commencement of the winter session in Nagpur. According to him, the Chief Minister and his entire cabinet would come under the scrutiny of the Lokayukta, but when the Bill was tabled in the House, several loopholes came to the fore. In the absence of opposition, the Lokayukta Amendment Bill-2022 was approved without any discussion. However, on behalf of the government, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed that the kind of Lokayukta Anna Hazare wanted has been created. Supplementary demands also created history. For the first time in the history of Maharashtra, a demand of about 52 thousand crore rupees was approved in Nagpur during the winter session.

Minister on target of opposition
Ambadas Danve, leader of the Thackeray faction and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, demanded the resignation of several ministers of the Shinde faction alleging corruption. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was accused of a land scam in Nagpur, while Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar, close to the Chief Minister, was accused of a grazing land scam. Cabinet ministers in the Shinde government, Uday Samant, Sanjay Rathod and Shambhuraj Desai were also accused of corruption. Danve claimed to have exposed scams and corruption of many more ministers, but by then the session was over. Apart from this, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari also became the target of sloganeering by the opposition. He was accused of insulting great men.

The house echoed with allegations
The winter session 2022 will also be known for the allegations and counter-allegations of the ruling and the opposition. Since many of the ministers in the Shinde government were also ministers in the Uddhav Thackeray government, the opposition shied away from attacking the government. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the attacker when the agriculture minister was accused of grazing land and the TET scam. Used to directly say that there are scams during Uddhav Thackeray’s government. The opposition appeared helpless in front of Fadnavis who is a master of speaking. Opposition leader Ajit Dada Pawar himself also appeared weak on many occasions. Many MLAs, former ministers and office bearers of Uddhav Sena have come under the scanner. Speculations are rife that Aditya Thackeray’s close aide may come under fire in the TET scam, job fraud case.
