How to go to Lakshadweep?

You can go to Lakshadweep from Kochi, Kerala. . It is possible to go from Kochi to Lakshadweep by flights and ships. Air India operates flights to Lakshadweep six days a week.

To go to Lakshadweep you need to reach Cochin in Kerala first. Flights are available from Cochin International Airport to Lakshadweep Agatti Island. The rates vary depending on how far in advance the flight is booked from which websites or platforms. If the rate is lower than Rs.5 thousand and the rate is higher than Rs.10 thousand – Rs.15 thousand for one side journey. If you do two-and-fro, it will cost from Rs.10 thousand to Rs.20 thousand. These rates vary depending on the season. October to May is the best season to visit Lakshadweep. Flight is an hour and a half journey.

You can also go by ship 

There are seven passenger ships to go from Cochin to Lakshadweep. They are named MV Kavaratti, MV Arabian Sea and MV Lakshadweep Sea. You can go in these. The ticket rate for man is Rs.2 thousand for second class, Rs.3 thousand for deluxe and Rs.5 thousand for first class. There are also discounts if you book in advance. Tickets can be booked on sites like IndianIslands.com. The journey time will be 14-18  hours depending on the island we want to visit. 

Entry to Lakshadweep

Entering Lakshadweep without permission is prohibited. . Permission has to be obtained from the Lakshadweep Administration in Kochi. To get the permission, you need to download the clearance certificate first. It should get a certificate of no criminal record from your local police station. Three passport photos should be added to the identity documents.    

Go to Kochi first

After the clearance certificate, you need to download the entrance permission document. Or you can go to the Lakshadweep Administration Office at Willingdon Island in Kochi and take permission. After reaching Lakshadweep, you can get this entry permission from the Station House Officer at Lakshadweep. To be provided. 

Carry less luggage

It is better to carry less luggage if you want to go to Lakshadweep by air. Flights here are smaller and less efficient. Better to go with less luggage.
