The difficulties of Shankar Mishra, accused in the Air India urine case, are not reducing, the hearing on the bail application has been postponed.

The troubles of Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on a female co-traveller in an Air India flight, are not taking the name of abatement. A Delhi sessions court on Friday adjourned till January 30 the hearing on the bail plea of ​​Shankar Mishra as the investigating officer in the case did not reach the court. The court also took note that a copy of the bail application of accused Mishra was not provided to the complainant. Shankar Mishra has filed a fresh application for regular bail after his bail application was rejected by a magistrate court on January 11.

The magistrate court had rejected the bail application saying that his act has shocked the civic consciousness of the people. This needs to be condemned. Additional Sessions Judge Harjyot Singh Bhalla adjourned the matter till Monday after the counsel for the complainant informed the court that he was not provided with a copy of the bail application. The judge also noted the absence of the investigating officer.

Shankar Mishra is accused of urinating on a female co-traveller in a flight in November last year. The court adjourned the hearing in the case due to non-appearance of the investigating officer. The court also observed that the copy of the bail application was not provided to the counsel for the complainant. The incident took place on November 26, 2022 in an Air India flight coming from New York to Delhi. Shankar Mishra was allegedly in an inebriated condition.

The Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Shankar Mishra on January 4 on the complaint of the victim woman. Significantly, on January 13, the case took a surprising new turn with Mishra’s lawyer claiming that his client had not committed the alleged crime. The complainant himself had urinated. The next day, the complainant rejected the claim and termed it as ‘completely false and fabricated’ and ‘offensive and demeaning’.
