Kejriwal gets ’10th’ support, Pinarayi Vijayan’s letter reaches PM against Sisodia’s arrest

The opposition seems to be mobilizing on the arrest of Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam. On Tuesday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has also raised questions on the role of central agencies through the letter. Recently, the leader of 9 opposition parties also wrote a letter to PM Modi.

Vijayan, who heads the Left government in Kerala, has also questioned the probe by central agencies against Sisodia. He wrote, “As per information available in the public domain, nothing incriminating has been recovered in Sisodia’s case like cash.” He said it was necessary to dispel the notion that the AAP leader was being targeted for political reasons.

9 leaders have already written letters

After the arrest of Sisodia, about 9 opposition leaders wrote a letter to PM Modi, alleging misuse of central agencies. These include the names of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar.

Along with them, former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao have also signed the letter. It is being said that CM KCR is the mastermind of this letter.

Congress still far away

The special thing is that on the one hand, many big parties have mobilized against the arrest of the AAP leader. At the same time, the Congress seems to be distancing itself from the matter. Till now the party has not said anything against the CBI action against Sisodia. Apart from this, parties like Janata Dal United and DMK have also been seen distancing themselves from the letter.
