Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be ruled out of the first match due to injury. Dhoni looked troubled due to a left knee injury during the practice session and now it seems to be the reason for his being ruled out of the first match.

Chennai Super Kings does not want to take any risk regarding the fitness of the captain and due to this he can miss the first match. According to media reports, MS Dhoni is not feeling fully fit right now and he is very cautious about it. Due to this injury, he also decided not to participate in the training session on Thursday.

In the absence of Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings will also have to struggle for the wicketkeeper. If Dhoni does not play on Friday, then Ben Stokes may be given the command of the team in his place, who himself is not fully fit. In such a situation, Chennai can also look at Ravindra Jadeja or Rituraj Gaikwad as an option.

MS Dhoni had come for a practice session at the Narendra Modi Stadium on the eve of the match. But he did not bat in the nets. He was seen interacting with Gujarat Titans mentor Gary Kirsten, with whom he won the 50-over World Cup in 2011.
