Inflation skyrocketing in Pakistan, banana being sold for Rs 250 a dozen; Lemon for Rs.800

The situation in Pakistan, which is facing economic crisis, has become very bad. The prices of daily necessities are skyrocketing. The prices of things ranging from petrol to food and drink are on fire. Due to high inflation, the public is facing problems. According to Pakistan’s local media, lemon prices are running at 200 Pakistani rupees per 250 grams. According to this, one kilo of lemon is currently being sold in many cities of Pakistan for about 800 Pakistani rupees. On the other hand, talking about garlic, it is available at the rate of 160 Pakistani rupees for 250 grams. The price of one kg of garlic has gone up to 640 Pakistani rupees.

Banana being sold for Rs 250 a dozen

Apart from this, talking about the prices of tomato, it is getting 120 rupees per kg, while bitter gourd is also being sold in retail for this much rupees. At the same time, the price of taroi has reached Rs 140 per kg. Kachnar, which was sold at Rs 350 a kg till a few days ago, is now being sold at Rs 600 a kg. Not only the prices of vegetables are skyrocketing in the neighboring country, but the prices of fruits are also on fire. Until a few days ago, the cantaloupe which was sold at Rs 70 per kg is now being sold at Rs 250 per kg. Banana, which used to cost Rs 100 a dozen, is now available for Rs 250. Besides this, strawberries, which were sold at Rs 50 per 250 grams, have increased to Rs 150 per 250 grams.

Inflation rising in Pakistan, people yearning for flour

The government of Pakistan is also worried due to the rise in inflation. Anger against the government is increasing in the public. There is hue and cry even for the flour used for making bread. People are yearning for every kilo of flour. At the same time, in the last few days, long lines of people have been seen to get free ration or flour. The previous day, a stampede broke out during the distribution of free rations in Karachi, in which at least 11 people died and many others were injured. Most of the dead include children and women. Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have also gradually reduced and are now left with little to no time left. The neighbor is seeking help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to get the loan, but the institution has put several conditions. Because of this also the economic condition of Pakistan is getting worse day by day.
