Post-poll violence in Bengal, cause of communal violence in Bangladesh: RSS

Kolkata, Oct 25 (PTI) The West Bengal unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has blamed the post-poll violence in the state for the recent attacks on Hindus in neighboring Bangladesh, as well as the silence of the state’s intellectuals on the issue. He also criticized him on Monday.

RSS’s West Bengal Prant Pracharak Jishnu Basu said violence in Bangladesh was fueled by attacks on Hindus after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s defeat in the state’s assembly elections this year.

Basu told PTI, “If you look at the pattern of violence in Bangladesh, then it will be understood that the post-poll violence in West Bengal is the main reason behind this incident. The attacks on Hindu Bengalis sent a message that Hindu Bengalis were defeated and this encouraged extremists on the other side of the border to attack Hindu minorities there.”
