Mamata criticizing the party that always supported her: Chowdhary

Kolkata, Oct 31 (PTI) Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has criticized Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee for her remarks against the Congress in Goa and said she made a statement against the party which always supported her. . Chowdhary said that it seems that Banerjee is acting as an agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Choudhary said in a press briefing on Saturday that he wanted to know why opposition unity advocate Mamata Banerjee had forged an alliance with the BJP in the past and became a minister in the National Democratic Alliance government. Was it?

It is worth noting that the day Rahul Gandhi went to Goa to campaign for his party, Banerjee had criticized the Congress. On Saturday, Banerjee had said that the Congress is not serious about politics, so Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be stronger. The Trinamool president had alleged that the country was suffering because the decision-making power in the Congress was lost.

Reacting sharply to Banerjee’s allegation, Chowdhury, MP from Baharampur, said, “I think you have now become an agent of the BJP. Please remember who had forged an alliance with the BJP in the past and who was part of the NDA cabinet. And now you are criticizing the Congress which has always supported you.”

Chowdhury said, “If you are not satisfied with us even after supporting Congress, will the people of Bengal be able to do so? The way you are treating the Congress, will you treat those who have won you three times?” On Saturday, Banerjee had said about the Congress, “I can’t say everything right now because they are not taking politics seriously. Modiji will become more powerful because of Congress. If no one can take a decision, why should the country bear the brunt of it?”

“They (Congress) got the opportunity in the past. Instead of fighting against the BJP, they should fight against me in my state.” The Trinamool has announced that it will contest 40 seats in next year’s Goa elections.
