Marvel is the biggest studio in the world giving superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America and Black Panther to the world. The biggest franchise of superheroes is with this studio. Marvel started with comics. Its foundation was laid in 1939 by Martin Goodman. In its journey of 8 decades, Marvel Studios also showed bad times. There came a time when the studio went bankrupt. when captain america first arrived

Marvel started comics in 1941 with the character of Captain America. In the comics poster, Captain America was shown punching Hitler. It was well liked. Company’s owner Goodman introduced characters one after the other, but in the case of comics, the competition also increased.

In the 1960s, Marvel’s Timely Comics was in direct competition with DC Comics. Marvel introduced characters like Spiderman and Fantastic Four to leave him behind. In 1963, it was decided to name its Timely Comics as Marvel Comics and its branding was started in the name of the company.

The era of TV series and films started

Taking a big decision in 1973, Goodman laid the foundation of Marble Entertainment Group. Production of TV series and films started under this group. Marvel Entertainment also saw a bad phase in its journey when the company went bankrupt. In 1989, New World Entertainment Limited bought Marvel for Rs 670 crore. After 2 years, the company came in the stock market. Due to the business deal, the company suffered more losses.

Amidst the financial crisis, the company sold the rights to X-Man and Fantastic Four to 20th Century Fox. Sold the rights to Spiderman to Sony. There was a legal dispute between the board members. Things started improving after about a decade. In 1998, Toy Bridge bought Marvel and merged its company Bizz Group and Marvel Entertainment. Even after the merger, the legal battle between the board members continued.

At the end of 2009, Walt Disney bought Marble for about 32 thousand crores. This decision was beneficial for Disney because in just 13 years of the deal, Marvel made Disney 6 times more profitable. Till now Disney has earned Rs 2 lakh crore through Marvel. Not only this, due to Marvel, one crore new users have been added on Disney’s online OTT platform Hotstar.

Michael Jackson once wanted to buy Marvel

Marvel was at its peak in 1984 and offered to buy DC Comics. The deal was also almost confirmed, but due to some reasons things could not materialize. In the 90s, its comics started getting so much popularity that popstar Michael Jackson tried to buy Marvel, but he could not succeed.
