Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP office on Monday, Siddaramaiah alleged that during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state, a huge scam had taken place in which more than 200 crore rupees had been looted in the name of coffee, snacks and biscuits alone.
Officials are also accused
This is a massive scam involving Siddaramaiah and his office staff and the then officials of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) of the state government, during the period of 5 years from 2013-14 to 2017-18, for the meetings of the Chief Minister’s office and the hospitality of guests coming to the Chief Minister’s office from outside for various functions. He has alleged that more than 200 crore rupees have been looted in his name.
It has been alleged that the total amount spent on coffee-tea-snacks-snacks-meals for the functions of the Chief Minister’s office alone in a period of 5 years is ₹200,62,93,027. He revealed this information from official documents provided under the RTI Act by officials of the Karnataka Government’s “Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms” and “State Guest Houses Department”.
11 lakh per day expenditure
Including 410 holidays in 5 years, an average of 11 lakh rupees was spent per day. Officials have been accused of producing piles of fake documents and giving unbelievable figures.
A period of 5 years means a total of 1,825 days. 82 days per year including 52 Sundays, 12 second Saturdays and more than 20 public holidays, resulting in about 410 days of public holidays for five years. However, assuming that during Siddaramaiah’s tenure the Chief Minister’s office functioned on all Sundays, second Saturdays and all public holidays without a single day off, a total of 1,825 days in the 5-year period, Siddaramaiah spent an average of Rs. 10,99,339 has been spent, he said.
Siddaramaiah Bhanda is a politician
However, Siddaramaiah, the father of corruption, has made it clear that he is a hypocritical politician by patting himself on the back. Among the 25 Chief Ministers who have served as Chief Ministers of the Karnataka state in the last 75 years, he alleged that such corruption called “guest treatment” happened during Siddaramaiah’s tenure, which did not happen even during the tenure of any other Chief Minister.
