UP Police Recruitment: High Court sought reply in the matter of relaxation in age limit for constable recruitment.

UP Police Bharti: Allahabad High Court has sought response from the state government and the Police Recruitment Board on the petition filed seeking five years relaxation in the age limit for Police Constable Recruitment 2023 for 60244 posts. Justice Prakash Padia has given this order after hearing advocate Anirudh Pandey on the petition of Jayaprakash and other candidates.

According to the petition, a relaxation of three years has been given in the age limit of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment 2023 for 60244 posts. Whereas this recruitment has come after five years. It was also said that earlier in the affidavit filed by the state government in the Supreme Court in Manish Kumar vs Union of India, it had talked about conducting reserve recruitment every year but this was not done. Due to the long gap of five years, many candidates have become overage. Advocate Anirudh Pandey said that this violates the fundamental right of the Constitution, equality of opportunity in the matter of public employment. In new recruitment, the government has given relaxation of five years in constable recruitment and sub-inspector recruitment under sports quota. In such a situation, relaxation of five years should also be given in the age limit for constable recruitment.

Online applications for recruitment of more than 60 thousand constables in UP Police can be made by visiting the official website of UPPBPB, uppbpb.gov.in. Candidates willing to participate in this recruitment of UP Police still have the chance to apply online till 16 January 2024.

Along with this, the application process is also going on for recruitment to the posts of SI, ASI (Clerk/Confidential) and Computer Operator and Programmer in UP Police.

It is noteworthy that online applications have been invited for recruitment to 60244 posts of constable in UP Police from 27 December 2023 to 16 January 2024. Keeping in mind the demand of general category candidates, State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced a relaxation of three years in the age limit. That means now general category candidates up to 25 years of age can apply. However, this relaxation has been given to all categories of candidates and candidates of all categories can take advantage of it. Yogi government had made this announcement on 26 December 2023, a day before the start of the application process.
