Sitting in America, Nirmala Sitharaman blew the air of western agenda, said- Muslims of India…

Nirmala Sitharaman In America: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a befitting reply to the negative agenda being run by western countries regarding Muslims in India. On Monday (April 10) at an event in the US capital Washington, Sitharaman said that Muslims in India are doing much better than the Muslims of Pakistan living in the neighborhood.

‘India has the second largest Muslim population in the world’

The Finance Minister attended a program of Peterson Institute of International Economics (PIIE) in Washington. Meanwhile, PIIE President Adam S. Posen asked about the loss of membership of opposition party MPs in India and the widespread reporting of western media about violence against Muslim minorities in India, the Finance Minister replied – India has the world’s second largest population. There is a large Muslim population and this population is increasing continuously. If there is such a perception, or is it in fact as stated in these articles (of western media) that the life of Muslims has been made difficult with state support, then my question is, can it be so? Would the Muslim population have been increasing as compared to 1947?

The example of Pakistan

Sitharaman gave the example of Pakistan in support of her answer which came into existence in 1947 with the partition of India. He pointed out how despite Pakistan declaring itself an Islamic country, not only has every minority group in Pakistan decreased in number, but some Muslim sects have also been wiped out.

Union Minister said, "In Pakistan there is violence against Muhajirs, Shias and every other group which is not accepted by the mainstream whereas in India you will find every section of Muslims doing their business, their children getting educated. Fellowship is being given by the government."
