Highlight:

The film is notable for its narrative style and the ‘spontaneity’ of ‘S Durga’ ‘presentation. The screenplay-free film begins with real scenes of Garuda weighing in as part of Kali worship. Pratap Joseph’s camera travels from the festival of self – inflicted pain to Goddess Preethi to the journey of Durga played by Rajshree Deshpande and Kabir played by Kannan Nair.
The story then progresses to the brutal pastimes of a group of arms smugglers who come in a car to help Durga and Kabir, a North Indian woman, escape from a deserted road to a railway station in the silence of the night.
Throughout the film, the director manages to keep the concerns about the safety of the character Durga throughout the film without any notable dialogues.
The film shows two forts. One is Kali and the other is Durga. In the first she is adored. The second is crucifixion. The first dungeon is accompanied by traditional musical instruments, while the second dungeon is accompanied by the speed and vibrancy of the ‘thrash metal’. ‘S Durga’ is a place where independent music and independent cinema come together through ‘Koyosi’, one of the best metal bands in India.
