Murdia once said that his decision to leave IIT and pursue his passion would inspire students. Speaking to Humans of Bombay, he had said, 'I have seen that students who are good in Physics and Mathematics are making sheepish moves to get admission in courses like Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. My decision will definitely boost the morale of those students who want to increase their interest in pure science but are unable to do so due to family pressure or money.

He said, 'Everyone was surprised by my decision and my friends were also included in it. People used to say that you are a child and do not know how to take big decisions in your life. They used to say that after getting an engineering degree from IIT, you will earn lakhs.
