High Court summons Finance Controller Basic Education Council in contempt

The Allahabad High Court has summoned the Finance Controller of the Basic Education Council in a contempt case. The court has sought an answer from him for non-compliance of the order passed in 2015.

Justice Prakash Padia has given this order on the contempt petition of Anil Kumar Pandey after listening to his advocate Arvind Srivastava. Advocate Arvind Srivastava told the court that on February 11, 2015, the High Court had ordered to take a decision regarding the promotion of petitioner Anil Kumar Pandey, working as an assistant accountant in the Basic Education Officer’s office, Mainpuri. Due to non-compliance of this order, a contempt petition has been filed. The court had summoned the response of the concerned authorities in this matter. Director Internal Audit and Examination filed an affidavit stating that he is not the competent authority to promote the petitioner, so he wrote a letter to the Finance Controller, Basic Education Council on April 1, 2016, requesting him to comply with the order of the court. On this, the court summoned the Finance Controller and sought an explanation from him as to why the order of the High Court has not been complied with so far.
