BTech Degreee: Madan Mohan Malviya Technological University administration has given great relief to the BTech students. Now the students here will be able to complete B.Tech in seven years in case of maximum failure. MMMUT has brought a new ordinance regarding this. Under this, more time has been given to complete the studies and it has also made it easier to pass. The scope of the curriculum has been slightly limited. The new ordinance is set to be implemented from session 2024-25 itself. According to the new ordinance of MMMUT, now B.Tech students will be given seven years to complete the four-year course. Till now this period was fixed at six years. Students are being given this additional opportunity to fulfill their desire to start a startup during the course. The university will also be able to implement the formula of multiple exits and multiple entrances through this facility.

Arrangements for overall passing have been made so that students can pass B.Tech easily. Students will no longer have to score 40 percent marks separately in semester and internal assessment to pass, they will be declared pass even if they score 40 percent marks overall. However, there will be a compulsion for them to score minimum 30 percent marks in the semester examination. To reduce the burden of students, a rule has been made to take one minor course instead of two.

The parameters of outstanding performance will change. Till now, getting 90 percent marks was considered as outstanding performance. Many times, when difficult question papers came, no student was able to come within this limit. For this the university is going to make relative grading system. In this, the performance of other students in that question paper will be decided on the basis of the student scoring maximum marks.

Now after taking admission in B.Tech first year, the student will not have to wait for a year to change the branch. In the second semester, they will be able to change the branch depending on the seats. The percentile of JEE Mains will be based on the change in branch. Till now the basis for changing branch was the performance of B.Tech first year.

Apart from minor degree, the university will also provide opportunity for micro specialization to B.Tech students. Now students will be able to get micro specialization in the related subject at half the credit of minor degree.

Committee will be formed for transparency in examination
To make the examination transparent, it has been decided to form a Course Coordination Committee. A separate committee will be formed for each subject. The committee will decide the format of the question paper and the examiner. Till now this work was the responsibility of one teacher.

A new ordinance of B.Tech has been prepared. It has got approval from the Vidya Parishad. An attempt has been made to make the new ordinance more student centric. – Pro. Jai Prakash Saini, Vice Chancellor, MMMUT
