New Delhi: On the day of Karva Chauth, women prisoners lodged in Tihar and Mandoli jails also groomed themselves a lot. The situation was such that there was a line of women prisoners in the beauty parlor built inside the jail here to beautify. The waiting of women prisoners who made bookings in the parlor had become so long that this process of decorating them started from Saturday and continued till Sunday evening. In this, women not only got hair cutting done but also got all the facilities like facial, manicure-pedicure, threading, vaccine.

For this, celebrations were held in Tihar’s Women’s Jail No.-6 and Mandoli’s Jail No.-16. Where 139 women prisoners kept fast. All of them also applied Mehndi. Mehndi was also applied by those women prisoners who had not even kept a fast. But he did all his work by attending the festival of women prisoners accompanying him.

Women prisoners who knew how to apply mehndi. He also applied Mehndi to the women prisoners observing the fast. Even if he belongs to any religion. Mehndi cones were provided inside the prison for applying mehndi. So that mehndi can be applied well. The festival of Karva Chauth was celebrated by all the women with great love. Sources say that some foreign women also kept this fast with their own pleasure. It has also been told that some male prisoners also kept fast.

Special food was prepared in women’s jails on the occasion of Karva Chauth festival. Which included Matar Paneer, Kheer and other delicious dishes. Women prisoners whose husbands are also in jail. Their meeting with the husbands of all those women prisoners was done on Saturday. This made their Karva Chauth day more successful.

The jail administration said that whatever legal things could be made available to the women prisoners for decoration on Karva Chauth, they were made available to the women prisoners through the canteen. Among them were bindis, bangles, hair bands, clutches and lipsticks and many other things.
